This room makes me think of atoms. I see classical shapes that atoms were thought to take when the idea was first proposed by Greek philosophers, and I think of the double slit experiment where the wave nature of matter was observed. The ladder reminds me of the diffraction pattern that appears in the experiment. The two dice remind me of the debate between Einstein and Bohr that “God does not play dice”.

The room has snakes and ladders theme.
The correct door has the ladder.
The large net is a snake catching net.
Behind a door was a rattling sound - rattle snake.
The two dice have ones pointing left and right like snake eyes. Two ones are called "snake eyes" when rolling dice.

There seems to be a heavy focus on splitting in the text.

"half of them wanted to go one way, half another." (First split reference ) then "They were close to splitting up" (Second split)

20 is the only number above which can be halved twice evenly.

The door being rattled is definitely 10, not 15, as evidenced by the description in room 10 of trying a door which wont open, causing the voices, which "sounds like us", to stop. I would argue that this is more like Many Worlds than a time loop.

"...one of the doors was shaken from the other side." There's a time loop theme. The door being rattled is 15 since that's where we just came from and we are rattling the door coming in.
Also, the dice from the front say 1 + 5 and from the top would say 4 + 2.
The guide suggests the net, a stick and circle (10), but we don't trust him to point us in the right direction.

For 20, I summed the sides of the dice visible from the perspective of the visitors.

The dice at the back: 6 + 5 = 11
The dice at the front: 6 + 3 = 9
11 + 9 = 20

The shadow of the net onto the table leg makes an "E":
- The net's shadow makes three horizontal lines,
- and you combine it with the vertical shaded side of the table leg.

It's hard to tell from this image on this site, but it's more clear in print or in a high-quality image.
