Hi! Hmmm… I think you’re letting the tail wag the dog here. If you’re coming up with a phrase and then looking for two Bs to satisfy it—instead of finding two Bs and thinking about what they might be clueing—you might not get anywhere. I’m sorry to say that I don’t think any of this could have been believably intended by Manson, but I also don’t think the kinds of clues you’re looking for (Shakespearean, wordplay) are insane. You just need to let them simmer a little. It takes a minute for us to find a B but takes a very long time for a B to find us. (Maybe 40 years! Maybe never.)

“Devil” reversing to “lived” also works well with the LEER look on devils face.

Shakespeare was real and lived. A real, now dead, person. And the curtains in this location have theatrical theme.
The text about “meaningful question” and 2 choices might be about “to be or not to be?” from Hamlet. I can see two 2s but can’t find two Bs.

Treat the horn/bell as a gramophone/phonograph.
“gram/phone/graph” are parts of words which are used in types of wordplay. E.g. Anagram, Homophone, etc.
This is a room about word puzzles.

Phonographs have smoother cone/bells than gramophones, so use phonograph. Now look at these two wordplay types using -phone and -graph:

Homograph: words with same spellings but with different meanings
Homophone: words with same sounds but with different meanings

If I were to combine these and seek a homographophone it would be: words with different meanings, with different (but in the smallest possible way) spellings and sounds.

Now look directly above and below the phonograph there is BEARD and BOARD. These satisfy the puzzle constraints. Then AND these together to get the answer: BARD

The BARD is of course Shakespeare. And BARD is a word that reverses to DRAB matching the reversible word theme.

When you enter room 22 you will see it’s all talk about the room being gaudy. Gaudy is the antonym/opposite to DRAB. And I wrote in room 22 how I feel room 22 is about BARD/shakespeare (Macbeth).
(antonyms are suggested in the text of this room with the emphasis on good/bad)

The face on the door has a “sly look” = LEER which reverses to REEL. Shakespeare has a play King LEAR. And REEL sounds like REAL indicating the real person

On the floor are POTS which reverse to STOP.
In room 3 there is a the word STOP written backwards next to door nine with nine written backwards. King LEAR is the 9th tragedy in First Folio.

It doesn’t seem like doors being open or closed carries through rooms, though. The people could be statues, I guess… seems like it would be a boring life just holding signs in the Maze for a living.

I found Maybe it’s a Maze again and its as good as ever, I remember watching it when I first checked out the online MAZE community a while ago! Heh heh-
