The Cask of Amontillado

Written back in 1846, Edger Allan Poe’s short story “The Cask of Amontillado” is a chilling story of revenge from the father of horror¬†literature. The story has three primary elements¬†Montresor,¬†Fortunato and the catacombs through which they wander. The catacombs are both the murder weapon and a metaphor for the depth of Montressor’s madness.
