The Cask of Amontillado

Written back in 1846, Edger Allan Poe’s short story “The Cask of Amontillado” is a chilling story of revenge from the father of horror literature. The story has three primary elements Montresor, Fortunato and the catacombs through which they wander. The catacombs are both the murder weapon and a metaphor for the depth of Montressor’s madness.
